Revised Tuition Assistance Policy

During the last year, Heroes on Horseback provided subsidies and tuition assistance totaling 85% of its total therapeutic riding program costs, with participants covering 15% of total program costs through tuition payments. During this same period, the number of participants requesting and receiving tuition assistance increased 400% over the previous year.

Unfortunately, current economic conditions have caused a decline in contributed income for our organization, as it has for all non-profit organizations. Such declines have warranted a revision in our tuition assistance policy, so that we may meet the needs of as many deserving participants as possible.

Beginning with the summer 2010 session, the maximum tuition assistance per participant will be $100 on a tuition rate of $200 plus a $5 registration fee. Please remember that the tuition rate already includes a subsidy of $328 per participant. Participants must still provide evidence of financial need by filling in the tuition assistance request form. Payment of tuition is due as follows:

On a very limited basis, Heroes on Horseback will consider full tuition assistance for qualified riders. Please inquire with us for further information.
